The Charity and Riley Cups are amongst the oldest cup competitions in world Rugby League and have been important features of the game in Rochdale.
The Charity Cup is the Rochdale & District ARL showpiece trophy and was first played for in 1887. Over 30 different teams have won the trophy over the years.
The trophy is currently played for at the Rochdale 9’s, which is open to all Rochdale based clubs/teams to enter as well as other invitational teams.
The Riley Trophy is the Rochdale & District ARL ‘Minor Cup’ and has been played for in many different types of competition since its inauguration.
